Peace of mind, back.

Aurista Medical is building the clinical evidence to bring a proven European treatment for chronic tinnitus to ear, nose & throat specialists across the United States.

Our Vision
“Peace of mind back to tinnitus sufferers, worldwide.”

By bringing a European treatment to the United States, we are building the clinical evidence needed to earn the trust of ENT specialists and to make the Koning Technique available through the doctors patients already see. Over the next five years, our goal is to bring relief to thousands of people living with tinnitus, including many U.S. veterans.

For Clinicians

The science, laid out plainly

Credibility comes first. Start with the mechanism, then the treatment, then the evidence behind it.

For Patients

You are not alone in this

Millions of people live with the ringing. Here is where to start, and why there is real reason for hope.

The Science

Why the ringing never stops

Tinnitus isn't damage to the ear alone. It's the brain's response to it. When hearing loss removes certain frequencies, the auditory cortex turns up its own internal volume searching for the signal that's gone missing. That amplification creates a feedback loop: nerves become hypersensitive, and the brain perceives a sound that was never really there. This is the central gain theory of tinnitus, and it's the foundation the Koning Technique is built on.

Listen

What does tinnitus sound like?

Everyone's tinnitus is different. These simulated examples give a sense of some of the most common sounds.
Please be careful. Turn your speakers or headphones down low before you play any of these sounds. They can be loud and irritating.
Sounds are locked until you confirm your volume is low. Each one plays for a few seconds, and you can stop it at any time.
The Path to Care

A long road to relief

Most patients spend months, sometimes years, moving through self-treatment, primary care, and specialist referrals before they receive a diagnosis, let alone relief.

STEP 1
Symptom onset & self-research
STEP 2
Primary care visit
STEP 3
ENT referral & diagnostics
STEP 4
Diagnosis, often years later
The Treatment

The Koning Technique

Developed in Europe by Dr. Koning, the Koning Technique is a brief, office-based procedure that targets the auricular branch of the vagus nerve, the same pathway implicated in the central gain feedback loop. In clinical use to date, it has shown reduced loudness and durable relief, with one of the lowest treatment burdens of any approach available today.

Non-invasive ~10-minute procedure Office-based Durable relief
The Evidence

Publications & clinical evidence

We're building a library of the peer-reviewed research behind the Koning Technique, from the original European studies to the clinical trials now underway in the United States.
